I'm not making this thread to cause a flame war between Paul Williams and Miguel Cotto fans. The reason why I made it is because it is common sense that a victory over Kelly Pavlik is a better one than over Manny Pacquiao because of the size factor, and yet Cotto will shoot further up the P4P list if the scenarios in the poll that I laid out come to fruition.

But cuz he never lost it, he has every right to get an immediate fight for it. Too bad he'd rather fight lil guys for an imaginary p4p title than SSM for the true WW title.
      Why not Against Cotto.

You know very Well, that Cotto is the #1 WW even tho bias Ring Mag have Mosley as the #1.

        Williams over Pavlik...

But I could say Pac beat Oscar at 147 so he proved he can compete there...

And Williams beat Wright so he proves he can fight at 160 legitimately...

Are people still giving Cotto a shot at the upset? I thought that would have been over with by now.

Pac will stop Cotto kinda in the fashion he did Oscar, except there will be allot more blood and swelling in my opinion.

And another thing I want to know is, what the fuck is taking Pavlik so long to come up with his medical report? Even Bob Arum expressed his alleged disappointment in the fact that Kelly didn't report to his doctor like he was supposed to.

At first I was kind of pulling for Pavlik to beat Williams because it seemed like he was really cooperative in the negotiations and people were writing him off after his loss to Hopkins. But then he comes up with some bull**** like this? I say fuck him.

I also see of how Ring has Williams ranked both in the 154 and the 160 divisions. If they are going to do that, then they need to rank him at 147 as well unless he absolutely says he is not interested in fighting there anymore. Paul has stated his intention of fighting Mosley.

In other words, Cotto has nothing to lose in the effort? I beg to differ.

Just look at the reaction the boxing public has taken to Hatton's shortcomings.

This thread is about which fighter poses the greater risk as far as winning and losing goes. Of course Cotto is going to get bashed if he loses to a guy who is a lot naturally smaller unless you want to use the one pound that Cotto has to shave off as an excuse. If Williams loses to Pavlik, it is going to look like it happened because Pavlik is stronger and bigger in terms of body mass. Williams has had some fights at 160 earlier in his career though to be fair.
