When did Shawn Porter start going downhill?

There’s a lot of people claiming Shawn Porter’s best days are behind him.

Was he shot before he almost beat Errol Spence, during the fight he almost beat Errol Spence in, or in the one shutout victory he’s had since the Spence fight?

    TIA idiots.

People dislike Porter because his style is ugly, crude, and wild. He’s essentially the linebacker of boxing. I understand why some people wouldn’t be a fan of his because his style is off putting. He’s the opposite of an orthodox style.

Say whatever you want about Porter, but his style is effective and he’s a tough out for anyone. Whenever you face Porter, you’re in for a fight.

Porter doesn’t have great power, but he’s tough and he has a high gas tank. He doesn’t roll over top guys, but he’s always competitive. He’s just short of elite status.

He’s a 2 time welterweight champion, and I think he’s just a few big wins away from HOF status. Not sure if he’ll ever reach ATG status because he has come up short on his biggest fights and that matters.

Porter is THE measuring stick at 147 if you ask me. His stock rises after each loss because of the problems he gives top fighters. I personally like seeing him in with Crawford he will test Crawford at 147 like no one else IMO

Your first paragraph describes boxing fans like me. That's why I don't like watching Porter.

Porter would be watchable if his punches were accurate

Someone like Lara gets sht for running a lot

but when he lands his shots they’re very clean

This. I also think Porter's defense is underrated. It's not pretty or particularly artful, but a guy who fights like he does should take more damage than he does. He finds a way to avoid punishment while inflicting his own. Bud is my guy, Omaha born and bred right here.... but he's in for a fight.

If he’s shot. He’s still a nightmare for any elite fighter.
