Will Josh Taylor Eventually Decide To Fight Teofimo Lopez Next?

I can't say with absolutely certainty that he will or will not, but it seems unlikely that he will for one simple reason:
"Lopez is saying that he’s an undisputed world champion when he isn’t – he only has three of the belts. He still has business to take care of at lightweight but he’s obviously just bumping his gums because he wants the big fights, which is understandable. If that happens, it happens," Taylor explained.

"I’d happily take the fight and cut him down to size. I’d bring him down to earth with a ****. I genuinely think I’d beat him up if we ever meet but I’ve no real interest in Teofimo Lopez. How they can have the audacity to say I’m scared of him is... it’s just a joke."

Bob Arum said yesterday that he wouldn't mind making either fight, just that he wasn't sure what Crawford's price point would be, and that would be a consideration, which fight would cost less to put on.

Source: FightHype (btw: what's up with that guy that looks as if he came out of a Flintstone cartoon?)

So it seems that this could be a fight that happens soon. I guess it ultimately depends on Crawford and whether he goes full Diva on this fight.

Now if Taylor means what he says, then Lopez's claim that it would be two undisputed fighters fighting each other won't mean **** to Taylor when Taylor doesn't view Teofimo as undisputed. But would Taylor go back on his word here and fight Lopez if he can't get a fight with Crawford?

He has his mandatory next then I guess he will see how the lopez/ loma, Crawford/Porter situations pan out. I would guess he can just see where the bigger money is. He's in a great position, anyone coming up from 135 has to go through him to become a legit world champion and Crawford seems to have limited options.

Yeah. I heard Arum entertain the idea of the Taylor vs Lopez fight. I didn't like the sound of that because I do really want to see the Lomachenko fight. One reason is due to Lomachenko always willing to fight anyone. He doesn't back down. He likes all challenges. With Teofimo, he's always shooting down potential fights. Having Teofimo as the champ might be the worst thing for the 135 pound division.

I really hope that it's not too expensive to see Taylor vs Crawford and Loma vs Teofimo. We get two amazing fights. If Crawford doesn't fight Taylor, who is he going to fight now? Spence is hurt again. Crawford shot down the Ortiz fight. I don't know man.

I do know that almost all of the boxing community want to see the Loma vs Lopez rematch. And you have a lot of people calling Loma as being the winner of the rematch. Robert Garcia, Victor Ortiz, ... a lot. I think that's why Lopez won't take it. He's actually scared now because he has something to lose. That wasn't the situation before.

One other thing is that Taylor hasn't completely shot down the idea of fighting Lopez, although he does want him to fight Haney next.

It's hard got me to imagine Crawford fight Taylor adter Porter assuming he wins because I think Ugas or Spence will be his target and honestly I think Teo will be a great option for him after their next fights if Teo is willing to step up.

Yeah, I mean, it sounds good. But how long have we been waiting for the Spence fight? Now he's injured again. I just don't see that fight happening. With Ugas, I don't know. If the timing is right, maybe, but Taylor is the in-house fight that would be the easiest to make. I suppose it just depends on Crawford and what he wants to do. I think the Taylor fight would do more money than the Ugas fight. But who knows ...

Teofilo doesn't want to fight anyone with a pulse.
