Dalton Smith saw his knockout streak end, though with his perfect record still intact. The unbeaten junior welterweight prospect outclassed Madrid's Brian Palaez, cruising a ten-round, unanimous decision win Friday evening at Worthersee Stadium in Klagenfurt, Austria. Scores were 99-91 on all three cards in favor of Smith, who was forced to go to the scorecards for the first time since his first pro fight more than two years ago.

Good learning fight for Smith as an 8-0 prospect but the fight had no business being for a ranking belt. In a few fights time then Smith might be ready for a top 15 ranking but he should never get one fighting Pelaez. Great example of how the international titles, etc shouldn’t be used

Agreed: These trivial inter bauble's are just that. Dalton's a good prospect who deservers to go the traditional British, Commonwealth & European title route & not waste his time with these worthless trinkets. Nice to see him & John Hedges taking fight's outside of the UK.
