Comments Thread For: Spin, Agendas Aside, Holyfield & Valdez Shouldn't Be Allowed To Fight This Weekend

By Keith Idec- The embarrassing era of "Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Boxing" will continue Saturday night with perhaps its most offensive event to date. How else are we supposed to view a farcical fight in which a 58-year-old former heavyweight champion will end a 10-year retirement to box a mixed martial artist who is 14 years younger, yet far less experienced in this sport? Former UFC light heavyweight champ Vitor Belfort was supposed to box another long-retired, 48-year-old legend in what was a questionable bout, too, but Oscar De La Hoya contracted COVID-19 and withdrew from their cruiserweight contest last week.

Great article by Idec. Finally some substance and comprehension regarding WADA’s code and the contradictions or inconsistencies with WBC-CBP.

However, Idec should’ve cited Conte’s quotes from his fiasco and the fiasco from the BJS vs Andrade situation. Then others could at least link conflicts of interest for who advises VADA. But then again, industry reporters are still naive about SNAC’s involvement with boxing. It’s a bit comical if you ask me.

then Idec states this: “Phentermine, primarily used to lose weight, isn’t comparable to an anabolic steroid, but Valdez essentially escaped this mess without suffering any real consequences.“

Countries throughout the world boost their livestock for the meat industry market. Different countries have different regulations and use different drugs, but make no mistake it is acknowledged. The amount used on livestock have regulations too. The problem is that there’s no consistency in the meat industry. “Organic” is a more modern culture to rival the use of drugs on bovine, but it isn’t illegal. Fans have no idea that Clenbuterol is one of many drugs to boost lean meat in bovine. Some countries ban it for political reasons and conflicts of interest to use different drugs that benefit the profiteers so that there are no monopolies. This then presents drugs having varying prices for the farmer.

VADA knew all that. Goodman said it directly to Al Bernstein on his podcast, and WADA scientists have stated that just one molecule causes a legal problem and that’s why WADA amended the threshold. When industry writers don’t detail this it just shows that they have bias to affiliation. GGG was just the protagonist before he fought Canelo. Many, like Manny fans, wanted these quiet “cute” non speaking guys to be the heroes vs the brash types.

WAR CANELO. kept it up Keith! We need more articles like this. Don’t be afraid.

Keith where is the article of you saying the Mayweather vs pacquiao fight shouldn’t have happened because Mayweather tested positive for an Illegal IV the night before the fight?? Everyone in the medical field knows that an illegal Iv contains either Lactated Ringers or Normal Saline which in sports both are used to mask banned substances. If you wanna be gangster calling out and pinpointing certain fighters then be gangster all the way

Meanwhile, Thomas Hauser was spotted sniffling Whyte's trash.

I'd rather say Holyfield should be allowed, not Valdez. Evander is in great shape, and he's not fighting Joshua for the title at 58, he's fighting a former mma fighter.

I agree, how can you allow a fight to continue when someone tested dirty?

What about other boxers who tested positive and were suspended? I get that there are different types of banned substances like HGH and diabetics, but shouldn't a banned substance be a banned substance and have some consequences?

I like Canelo so it's really hard to accept but some times the simple answer is the right answer.
