According to boxrec (not the most reliable source but oh well) Joan Guzman is fighting Ali Funeka on December 5th for the IBF Lightweight title.
Should be a great fight and good to see Guzman back in action after such a long layoff.

I've read comments, from more than one writer, saying Showtime supposedly doesn't have enough money in their budget to get this fight done. It's supposed to be on a tripleheader, let's wait and see if it can come to fruition on any date in the near future (fingers crossed).

Guzman vs Funika will be fighting on Librado Andrade undercard on HBO NOV 29TH

Guzman-Funeka wont be on the Bute-Andrade undercard, Holt-Maidana will. And no I heard this fight wont happen until 2010, because Showtime doesn't have enough money in their budget to get it in this year.
