Advantages Marquez holds over Cotto vs Pacquiao?

It seems most people are picking Pac to beat Cotto at 145 when just 18 months ago he barely got by Marquez at 130 (I personally had Marquez winning 114-113).

To those people who don't think it will be as close as the Marquez fight, what do you feel Marquez holds over Cotto that allowed him to be so successful against Manny? Obviously their styles are a little different but what aspects seem to be key?

Counter punching and Marquez would be faster than cotto. I think it will be a very close fight, aslong as cotto can use his jab and body shots.

Cotto and Marquez are very similar and are equally skilled what Cotto lacks JMMs do and what JMMs lack Cotto do.

People just think Marquez is better skilled than Cotto because of Marquez showing against Pacquaio but in reality they are very equal and simili to some extent!!!!!

Cotto WILL KTFO in a half decent fighT!!!!!!

Cats say this **** cuz Pac ****d his last 2 opponents and Cotto got a close decision over Clottey. Many were talkin like Clottey was a journeyman who stood no chance for some reason. And when Cotto edged him fightin cut almost the whole way, now he's 'shot.' JMM>Cotto, but Cotto is too damn big n strong for Pac. Cotto just ain't gettin any respect lately.

Yea, I was thinking he held the edge in counterpunching....not sure about speed, though.

I agree, I don't get all this "shot" talk. Clottey is a great fighter and I don't think the outcome of that fight would have been any different pre-Margarito.

first fight against marquez...pac was a lame ass one dimensional fighter as evidenced by all the left shots he redundantly threw. he lacked defense as evidenced by never having his hands up in his face...he was wide open.

4 years takes place... a fight here, a fight there...pac learns how to use his other hand (oh hello right hand!)... he starts to learn how to move and do the in and out movement...starts to learn how to defend and evade...but clearly not that proficient as evidenced by their 2nd fight with marquez.

bap bap bap....comes in diaz, hoya, hatton....and we see improvement in the facets of his game stated up above.

*for all the band wagoners pac wasnt an overnight highlight film. he ****** during his early days, and gave me freakin migraines just watchin him with my friends coz he had a lame ass defense...sure had a good left though. imo, he's the boxer that he is now coz of all the wars he waged with the barreras, marquez and morales during his stint as the "mexicutioner".

third fight with marquez? i dunno what to expect. a boxer doesnt stay the way he was from the last fight. as ive seen from all his fights, pac looked like he developed a thing or two in every fight he had. come marquez time i dont think it will be that hard again.

btw...i seriously hope the cotto that shows up come fight time isnt the one who showed up @ cotto/clottey. watched pac-hatton/hoya beforehand then watched cotto/clottey again on youtube...the way he moved there...cotto's gonna be hit with flash punches if he's that slow.

on the otherhand, if the cotto that shows up is pre-margo....he's gonna be one scary mothafcka.
