No announcement yet.

Ive been saying it for ages, Freddie Roach is useless in Pacquiaos corner, he offers nothing, he doesn't even have a strategy going into fights, Pac is better off with Buboy and Justin Fortune

Obviously from their fight. You can see how well prepared Ugas against Pac. While Pac didn't have a clue how to fight Ugas. Obviously you will know which one well prepared for 2 months and just 10 days for each other. Now Spence career ending detached retina somehow magically recovered. Hopefully the rematch push through. If Pac lost then he should retire in boxing.

OP is right, Roach is a hopeless corner man. No matter how good a trainer he is/was he can't respond appropriately to what is happening in the ring right now.

This is what happens when you pick an opponent on short notice you didn't properly prepare for. If anyone is to blame, it's Manny!

He is one part to blame but obviously Pac was screwed by PBC, Spence, Ugas and others. The timing of 11 days before the fight both Spence and Ugas opponent suffered injuries. The way Ugas fought Pac obviously he didn't just trained for 10 days but months and Spence magically recovered from his supposed to be career ending detached retina only add fuel to to the fire.

There is no trainer on Earth that can help a fighter beat father time.

When you are 25-28 and in your prime, fighting elites, you will likely take some L's.

When you are 36-43, past prime, fighting elites, you will likely take even more L's.

That's boxing. Or any sport really.

Can Freddie Roach take me and make me a champion now at my age? No. Roach is a boxing trainer, not a magician.

Can Freddie Roach take 8 year old me and eventually make me a champion? He probably could. It would depend on the work I put in. My chances would increase like this. But there's a lot of variables.

Last I remember, boxing trainers are not scientists with a Medical Degree, who focus on anti-aging medicine and treatments. They are trainers who focus on boxing. They can not help you with your wrinkles, bones weakening, losing muscle mass, and your body gaining more fat. They also can't help you with your mind, getting it out of your mind that "I am a millionaire, I do not need to work that hard". Every older fighter's last hope is their mind. How did Hopkins and Foreman did it? Their mind, obviously. They were hungry.

When you are old and past prime, you are done. Not even steroids can beat father time. HGH, test, clen, whatever. None of that works when you are old, past prime and no longer hungry. Because even with steroids, there is work to put in. Steroids are not magic pills that increase your defense, hand speed, footwork, chin, or an increase in your ring intelligence or your hunger to win.

A lot of boxing fans have this false thought that a boxing trainer is supposed to magically make a fighter great. Or prolong an old fighter's career.

It's like Amir Khan working with Virgil Hunter to make his defense better. Bro, there's nothing Hunter or anyone could magically do about your ability to take punch.

The only way Pacquiao can look good again, is if he just fights come-forward brawlers his size. Just pick stylistically easier opponents, and he will look "young" again. Or fight McGregor or Berto like Floyd did. You do not have to impress anyone at your age. Just have fun, make money and call it a career.

I scratched my head because I watched Ugas and I saw a very skilled counter striker with long ass arms and short torso who is hard to hit to the body, he was much more dangerous than Spence, Spence to me offered openings and wasn't very defensive, he left his face open a lot and was slower than Ugas

Justin Fortune and Buboy working Pacs corner for the Lucas Mattysse fight and that was probably the best we seen Pacman in years Fortune studied Lucas and so did Buboy and they used the proper strategy

Pacman is screwed because the Hollywood crowd love Roach and if Pac dumps Roach a lot of the people will turn on him and make him a bad guy to dump his trainer of many years who is sick.

Roach wont even take second fiddle, he even insulted Buboy when a reported asked him if Buboy was a good trainer he said no he just cries and panics in the corner

Remember when Alex Ariza was getting credit for Pacs rise in weight? Roach got jealous and demand Manny to fire him and Manny eventually did.

Roach is the most overrated trainer all his prefight strategy consists of predicting
              a KO
Teddy Atlas even said Roach was the problem in the Ugas fight.
              Good stuff hectari

Pacmans hands were fast it was just his feet, they were like stuff in cement. If he had a good trainer they would tell him you dont need to explode in and out just step in and place your feet, he was telegraphing and hitting air with lightning fast combos. Im even a better strategist than roach.

I agree, his hands were still very fast, but his feet and head movement are gone completely now. Time to rematch Horn and then retire. Nash out.
