Vergil Ortiz Jr. now #2 ranked welterweight by WBA

The WBA released their new rankings for this month late last nite. Vergil Ortiz who held the Gold belt @ 147 lbs for the WBA is now their #2 ranked welterweight on their rankings. Only Stanionis is rank higher which makes no sense since his last fight was a no contest against an over the hill Collazo, while Vergil is coming off a masterful performance win over a Top 10 welterweight in Mean Machine. Anyhow, this puts Vergil one step closer to a title shot as he is currently ranked #1 by the WBO, #4 by the WBC and now #2 by the WBA @ welterweight. At 23 yrs old the sky the limit for this kid.
