Comments Thread For: Erislandy Lara Vacates WBA "World" 154 Title, Calls For Middleweight Clash With Murata

Erislandy Lara has given up one title in pursuit of another. BoxingScene.com has learned that Lara will no longer retain the World Boxing Association (WBA) "World" junior middleweight title, having officially relinquished the belt according to sources familiar with the development. The decision came as the Cuban boxer was on the clock to inform the WBA whether he plans to retain his secondary status at junior middleweight or at middleweight.

Ooo normally I'd be worried haymon might steal murata from golovkin cause the whole wba b.s but the wba aint gonna be doing shlt for a while. Also even murata would turn down lara. More value in beating ggg than the runner

He needs at least one more belt for big Charlo. It's easier this way than fighting Andrade.

If he wanted a title shot by any means, he'd fight Andrade. #Keepthatsameenergy

That's impossible, Andrade never fights anybody who has won a world championship. He just calls them out and then fights someone much worse; struggles to barely beat the likes of Martirosyan, Culcay, Williams, and Sulecki.

Lara vs Andrade would put the crowd to sleep. Neither one ever commits on offense. Both Lara and Andrade should have a punch output clause in their contracts

How many of you genuinely regard any of the "Regular" title holders as Champions? It's mind boggling how deliberate the WBA are with showing how corrupt they are. They're literally telling you there's 2 guys holding the same title and whoever promotes that fighter can call them "World Champion" equally. You almost have to laugh.

Pretty sure most of us don't, but Showtime and some journos sure do.
