It's not the high profile fight he sought, but Kazuto Ioka can at least move forward with a title fight. The defending WBO junior bantamweight champ and mandatory challenger Francisco 'Chihuas' Rodriguez both made weight for their upcoming showdown, which takes place Wednesday at Ota-City Gymnasium in Tokyo. Ioka (26-2, 15KOs) weighed 114.9 pounds, while Mexico's Rodriguez (34-4-1, 24KOs) was a fit and trim 114 pounds in a bid to become a two-division titlist.

The Dark-Horse of the Super-Fly division returns! Japan's thuglife, Kazuto Ioka. Elite skills on display tomorrow, I hope Francisco Rodriguez Jr. does well, we know there is no quit in him ; 'Chihuas' Rodriguez jr. has only been prematurely stopped in Nicaragua vs. Roman Gonzalez, but no one has put him out cold.

Francisco, is very well seasoned and prepared for this great opportunity, arguably still in his prime, and unbeaten at 115 ; the kid earned his mandatory shot at the WBO 115 championship.

A good title defense in the land of the rising sun, see you boy and girls.
