These awful rankings is one of the reasons we get these farce fights like Canelo vs Yildirim (WBC).
I know a lot of fans are content with organizations like IBF because they "are consistent and follow their own rules". But I am sorry, they all suck and they are all terrible for boxing. IBF's rankings are no better.
It's sad that We Be Corrupt has the best 147lb ranking of all organizations. They are supposed to be the worst of the 4 organizations. But their rankings are largely similar to The Ring rankings.
Look at this crap from WBA:
Champion: Ugas (good, proven fighter)
World?: Jamal James (good, proven fighter)
Gold?: Vergil Ortiz (good, proven fighter)
1. Mantis Hypnosis
2. Abel Sanchez
3. Radzhab Beterbiev
4. Guy who won by robbery
5. Alberto Palmetto Bugs
6. Super Mario Barrios
7. UFC's Israel Adesanya
8. Too many syllables
