Mexican fighters have a habit of upsetting British fighters. Anthony Joshua, Josh Warrington, James Tennyson and Tommy Frank are all fighters who have come unstuck against unheralded Mexican boxers in recent times ... Anthony Tomlinson promises he won't be next.

Ruiz is American, not sure why that’s so hard for people to get. If a man named Colm O’Herlihy was born in Ormskirk, speaks with a Lancastrian English accent…..he’s British.

'but I know he’ll have that Mexican style, will come forward and have a fight.'

That, I think, is the reason for the success. It is true that Mexicans will seldom dance around the ring, sleekly avoiding punches by a fraction, although that is exactly what Gilberto Roman did, but Mexicans don't all have the same style. If British boxers just assume 'he's Mexican, he'll come forward & fight', they won't properly prepare. Does he come forward behind a jab? Is he southpaw? What's the danger punch? Can he use angles? Where are his feet? (don't say, 'on the end of his legs Bro, innit')

I remember Holligan losing his world title to Goyo Vargas. Goyo didn't move, stayed in the hole, worked a short left jab & completely outboxed Holligan. Goyo actually took very few clean punches.

And we know why they lost. Unless you think being unable to have a proper camp and sparring whilst being out for a long time isn't a reason? Of course it is. Why else do you think Americans and Mexicans are picking them across the board intentionally? Why do you think Canelo cripples opponents before he fights them? For their own good? It's to gain advantage. However, Americans and Mexicans are the only two nations with plenty of losses when in the position of having the advantage.

What happened when two title holders (One being the best in the division) in WBA titlist Can and IBF champion Mthalane fought huge underdogs in Edwards and Wood? They were dominated from start to finish. Wood even knocked Can out. Everyone was saying they were going to be destroyed. Me though? I keep on making money at the bookies. The patterns are very clear.

But in all honesty, who the f3ck is Tennyson and Frank? No, seriously? The Mexican who beat frank (Just looked on Boxrec as i have no idea who the hell he is) was dominated by Edwards before the pandemic did it's damage. And? Who gives a f3ck? Why are you so fixated on low level fighters being beaten by Mexicans when at their worst? I can do the same with Americans and Mexicans. And? Do you think it's exclusive or something. Are you so desperate and insecure that you want to make something out of it? It really is f3cking weird. When have you seen Brit posters give a f3ck about worthless wins? We don't even mention them. But you and other desperate weirdos are jumping up and down like it's Christmas. Have we messed your mind up to the point you have to be this desperate? Do you really want me to point out dozens of losses for Mexicans and Americans regardless of the level they're at? It's pretty normal. Especially when they're at huge disadvantages like the Brits were. Read up on which countries where crippled the most with all the shutdowns and what not.

To be surprised that an athlete badly out of form doesn't do anywhere near to what they normally perform at is something only an idiot can do. Context is everything. Or do you want me to make something out of Roy Jones and Sugar ray Robinson being beaten by Brits while finished and cast it off as them being exposed? Under those circumstances, we come out if it much better than you and the Mexicans. Selby beat Montiel and Khan beat Barrera. But do you see us pumping our chests out in insecure desperation? No you don't. Have some f3cking self-respect and look at things fairly.
