Will GGGs "title" defense "record" be rescinded now that WBA ruled? Or does that not count?

Doubtful......it was in the past and was recorded as a title defence so it's valid, if it was happening these days then it would be a different story

Duly noted I see you're point and I also commented on that thread because it was about time the WBA did something correct instead off their usual ******ity which they seem to do, I wasn't criticising or downplaying you're thread I think it's a valid question given the recent circumstances and changes in the organisation but I doubt it will effect past fights title defences since the changes are taking effect now in the present.

Right, obviously there is always an exception to the rule. Impact matters too, not just volume.

However on volume, GGG outlanded Danny in 9 of 11 rounds, with 1 tie (according to compubox, which I think more or less got it right there). Punch for punch, it's hard to argue Danny was landing as impactfully as GGG anyway that night.

It's fair to say GGG didn't perform up to expectations against Danny - personally I thought the first good shot GGG hit him with on the chin, he would go down. But his chin is better than it first appeared. If you were to tell me Danny would go 12 rounds, I would have expected an 8-4 type GGG win, and that's what it was.

Fair to say GGG didn't perform as expected vs Danny Canelo (Twice) and Sergei really. But the only close fight he had in that or in his whole career was vs Sergei. Everything else, love him or hate him, only had one winner and it was GGG.

British commentators, first of all, routinely are terrible. And we don't need to wonder too much about why Mexican commentators would try and see it for Danny.

GGG was the boogeyman and people, especially people who were invested in seeing chin.ks in his armor, were a little too eager to make that performance out to be more than what it was - a nice performance by Danny, exceeded expectations as far as going the distance. He still lost, probably 8-4, that's 5 points with the KD.

Yeah anyone saying Danny won that fight, I mean who cares but that's about as clear of a win as you can get for a guy in a competitive 12 round fight.

If Danny and GGG fought each other's fight, I'd have the same opinion but in reverse. Those who score that fight for Danny, surely would not do the same. Credit Danny for exceeding expectations, knock GGG for not doing more if you want to, but yeah trying to say the fight Danny fought was good enough, relative to GGG"s work that night, it's just not serious. But we have all sorts of terrible biased opinions in boxing all the time, who cares.

HBO themselves - GGGs personal hype machine - scored it for Jacobs.

It was a very, very close fight and Danny landed the better shots.
