Ahaha I find them fun to say too.

I gotta go with Yordenis Ugas and Yuriorkis Gamboa.

Same with a lot of Eastern European and Asian boxers too. Eimantas Stanionis is fun to say for instance.

Honestly I’ve heard Guillermo several times. The actor that played Scarface on Half Baked was named Guillermo.

It's just the way its transliterated I think. It's just 'William' with a Spanish / Cuban twist.

Yuri is the Russian version of George and I ain't looked into it but at a guess it entered the Cuban naming tradition during the the years of 'fraternal cooperation' between the USSR and Cuba, though clearly they saw fit to add to the Greco-Russian root as they pleased.
