Davis' issue needs to be resolved, no question. Historically, all sanctioning bodies have made such decisions based on communication w/ fighters and their teams, so entirely possible WBA knows something we don't yet know regarding Tank's next fight. But no question, whatever weight at which he fights, the other two titles need to be vacated to validate this movement.
Gutierrez-Colbert actually favors Golden Boy. PBC didn't ask for the fight and was expecting to have Colbert next fight Xavier Martinez.
Figueroa is going to be stripped once the Fulton fight happens. MJ is already fighting Ronny Rios. Next likely move is to have winners of MJ-Rios and Aleem-Roman meet.
Rigondeaux no longer has the title.
Russell-Rodriguez was downgraded from interim title to title eliminator before the fight, as we reported.
Morrell-Ryder was already ordered. Alvarez is in talks for his next fight. WBO mandatory will be due next in rotation, and three-belt unified titlists have up to 18 months for mandatory period (24 months if all four belts).
No proof that Rau'shee Warren is fighting for a vacant title his next fight. If it happens, you have your I-Told-You-So moment.
They order either Regular vs Super or Regular vs Interim depending on allegiances.
See where the regular champion pbc guy is in danger by fighting another promoters fighter for the super, they order an interim-regular consolidation.
Other places like light fly and super fly where there is no pbc guy to favor, Regular champ Franco(if there were a pbc guy there you bet that interim position would already be filled by them) is ordered to fight the Estrada-Gonzalez winner super champ and Super champ Kyoguchi fights regular champ Bermudez instead of the interim champ Matellon.
Youre doing the same thing with Davis they are.
Its not just about him vacating, shouldnt he have to consolidate his chosen regular belt with the super champion?
or is that too dangerous for pbc?
Yeah no, Colbert isnt anything to write home about, but Gutierrez is terrible.
Rigondeaux may no longer have the title, but his pbc cronies are right in tow behind him.
Lets be honest, most of the regular champs are pbc, if they get replaced pbc already has their ducks lined up to cover the bases again, they seem to get first dibs after all. Also, the winner of an eliminator challenges for the belt now right?
Now that the path is clear, whose to stop them from just fighting for the super outright?
Force the Alvarez-Morrell fight. You know why it wont.
Patterns are predictable.
EDIT: Towards the bolded:
That would require PBC fighters having a set of balls.
Instead, the Roman fight magically dissipated into thin air, replaced with a much easier, still spanish name on the z-side, and Idec says that the WBA will probably put the regular WBA on the line since Figueroa is stripped.
Still going to try to tell me the WBA and PBC arent complicit?Last edited by glenn mcrory; 08-19-2021, 05:40 PM.

Put this in the other thread:
They haven't stripped Davis, text says nothing about being forced to fight either Lopez or Taylor, just to leave belt up for grabs for Colbert.
Colbert-Gutierrez which favors pbc
Figueroa-Fulton: no forced consolidation with Murodjon Akhmadaliev
Rigondeaux-Casimero: Russell-Rodriguez winner in line to pick up follow-up strap.
Morrell-Ryder: Morrell not forced to consolidate with Alvarez who would force Morrell to vacate his own title to avoid being put in a coma.
Isnt professional gift belt loser Rau’s**t Warren about to get another trinket fight?BustedKnuckles likes this.

They don’t need to consolidate the super belt because that’s the only real one. The owner of the super belt has mandatories who the WBA mandate for them to fight. So it’s either cancel all of those meaningless belts, or get them all to fight each other and then whoever come up on top would fight holders of the “Super” belts as a mandatory.
