Crawford will take the fight, he's not going to vacate the belt.

i doubt the fight can be made. Top rank want to pay dollar store prices for mega fights.
All I know is, I specifically said last year this was going to purse bid and numerous people said it wouldn't.

        Meanwhile, Arum back in July:

“Hopefully, we’ll be able to get it done,” Arum said of working with TGB and PBC. “I mean, it’s a good fight and we’re prepared to do it. Let’s see how it works out. I thought [the WBO was] very fair to Porter, Porter’s side, with the 40 percent. And I think it’ll do reasonably well on pay-per-view.”
The 40% applied to the purse bid. So Arum knew what he was doing. He doesn't want to pay for Crawford, he wants Triller to step up and bid on it like Teo did so that Top Rank gets a percentage without doing any work.

I don't think anyone would want to spend much on a fight involving Porter. I'm yawning already.
Hope it fails. I'd rather Bud fight a good lightweight than this guy.

Or maybe haymon offers porter more $$$ for Thurman and just leaves Crawford to rot at TR?!

Ever since Tank has been taking easy fights you have been crapping all over good matchups that involve the best fighting the best.

You want everyone to take the path of least resistance like Gervonta does?

Why would that be a good thing? Porter has wanted Crawford for over a year now, why would he go and fight Thurman in a rematch when he can fight Crawford for a title? And if he wins? Then he is in line to get the Spence rematch. Thurman hasn't fought over 2 years and by November it will be damn near 2.5 years. He's coming off a loss on top of that. So yeah, if Porter takes that fight instead of Crawford...................

IDK, I will be shocked if this fight comes off. This is a solid matchup, yet nobody, not the fighters, the promoters nor the networks seem very excited about this fight. I'm pretty sure we see Thurman v Porter instead. Hope this opens up lanes for a Crawford v Ortiz Jr. fight. IMO, outside of settling the HW business between Fury, AJ and Wilder, there isn't a more interesting fight than Crawford v Ortiz Jr.
