It'll get bids. Some months back I covered that Hearn was interested. I think Triller definitely bids. I think PBC bids.
Plus any promotional company that wants Crawford after October will bid for sure.

I expect Top Rank to bid around $3.1. I could see DAZN or PBC winning the bid. Especially PBC. Both have way better options at WW for Crawford. So they can sign him for a few fights after.Leave a comment:

Nonsense. Utter nonsenseThe beautiful things about this is whether Top Rank get Crawford a fight or not, they have to pay him his remaining 3 plus million left on his contract come October. If I was Crawford (or Porter), I'd let this go to purse bid...you know Haymon, Hearn & Triller will bid like crazy for this fight.
And Crawford will get paid twice, once from the purse bid winner (if it's not Top Rank) and second from Top Rank who has to honor the remaining financial of his contract once it expires in October.

This fight (if it happens) would probably be the BEST FIGHT OF THIS YEAR in boxing. It's pretty strange that people are acting like no one can make any money on it. Hopefully the purse bid can generate enough for the fighters, and this fight happens. Whoever wins this will have a huge springboard going into next year. A huge legacy fight for both, and a huge badge of accomplishment. Every boxing FAN should be excited about a fight like this.
LoL @ fans moaning that "I don't wanna see this fight" ... or "I don't wanna watch this or that fighter". Fake fans. Real fans appreciate ANY boxer who figures out how to get it done to the championship levels with whatever style, personal attributes, overcoming personal flaws, etc. There has never been a perfect fighter ... and if there was he/she probably never wins a championship. Molding and growing your talents, working through the competition, and earning a living are the DUES that every champion HAS to pay.

I can actually see this one going to DAZN or Triller. Usually there would be no way Haymon would allow that, but Porter is on the downside of his career, and Haymon's deal is ending and he could use the cash..... nice bonus if Porter pulls off the upset in that it takes away an ESPN/TR belt as well.Leave a comment:

The problem with Bud is that he wasted his prime years fighting bums under Top Rank's banner. He could have jumped ship and fought Spence, but he preferred to fight weak opposition for less money. That was his decision and because of that his resume looks putrid. Can't think of any all-time greats who at his age had that weak of a resume. The guy is the most overhyped fighter I've ever seen in history. The worst resume I've ever seen for a guy that hyped up by the media at 33. His resume makes GGG's look like Death Row killers.Last edited by MisanthropicNY; 08-17-2021, 09:36 PM.Leave a comment:

If this happens, it's like two in one for me. First, I despise all belts and their crooked orgs equally. I hope every fighter vacates their trinkets. Second, I'm OK not seeing a Porter fight ever again. The guy will do good in MMA or wrestling.
Thanks for your expertise.Leave a comment:

This would have made an excellent fight for prime time FOX a couple of years back when the big fights were still on FOXLeave a comment:
