Muhammad Ali's grandson got off to an impressive start Saturday night to his professional boxing career. Nico Ali Walsh faced a very limited opponent in his pro debut, but he handled Jordan Weeks accordingly. The 21-year-old Ali Walsh scored a knockdown and stopped Weeks in the first round of a super middleweight match that was scheduled for four rounds in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Very green and he will have to learn to move his head more. However he did what he was supposed to do. Hope they get him good sparring to make up for the lack of amateur pedigree.

Being Ali's grandson they fed him some literal clown off the street and broadcast it, any of the guys on the untelevised card deserved that spot much more. All this for a guy who will be exposed sooner than later.

Since they first announced they would be airing the grandson's debut, ESPN's coverage of the event has been brutally annoying. It's just a montage of home video and family photos that show Ali and the kid. Over and over again. Nothing to speak regarding the kid's actual talent level.

Next thing I know, Flavor Flav is in the corner like some bad reality TV mashup.
The whole thing came off very exploitive of the Ali name and legacy and what made it worse was the grandson seemed to be more than willing to join in on the exploitation.

As for the fight, I'm sure nerves played a part but I didn't see any talent as he just flailed punches against a kid with no visible boxing skills. The sooner the kid loses, the sooner ol' Bob and ESPN will dispense with this circus.

Yeah, he did what he was suppose to against an MMA fighter who's 4-1 in boxing and NO amateur experience! Hope nobody thinks the outcome of this fight was due to Ali's talent and nothing to do with the sorry opponent! Well at least his mom's looking!
