How will Spence pulling out affect Pacquiao mentally?

When you are preparing for a historic fight with #1 fighter Spence and now you gotta fight Ugas, this has to be a let down for Manny mentally.

Moreover, Ugas is no joke and arguably beat Porter, just like how Ruiz was no joke and arguably beat Parker.

Ugas on the other hand is now blessed with a great opportunity he didn’t necessarily deserve.

I hope Pac does a number on Ugas, but man this whole thing blows.

Pac is a WELL seasoned pro, so I wouldnt think there is any emotional or motivational component to this.

The biggest issue is all the sparring and strategizing they did was in preparation for a lefty. Now they only have a matter of days to re-focus on fighting a right hander.

But again, Pac is no rookie. If he didnt think he could make the adjustments, he wouldnt have taken the fight.....

Probably sucks because even with his long career, how often has this happened to him? A big PPV fight vs a top fighter, singed, sealed and a week away, falls though. Think about it, how many times has Pacquiao been through this? If I recall, zero times.

He is training hard in the gym at 42 years old, 43 several months from now, busting his ass to gun for the upset vs a top 3 welter, younger, top 10 P4P, tough, unbeaten fighter. Putting a toll on his body and muscles to be ready for him. Then he gets word he will now fight some other guy with a different style, lesser name, less fan friendly style, no fights this year, and no one would really care if Pacquiao beats him.

He and his team have a week and a half to look at tapes of Ugas and figure out how they will approach him in the ring.

That has an effect on him mentally i'm sure.

Best we can hope for is that Pacquiao beats the brakes off of this guy.

Almost everyone (like me) wants the Pacman to leave in one piece. Ugas might be a semi-safe one to do so. Pac has throughout his career mostly fought conventional fighters, so I'm not worried about that. It should be the easier style. Ugas is good but also featherfisted.

If he's gonna keep fighting for just money, I'd rather he only fights bums. No complaints from me. I don't even count the Pacman in this era.
