I can’t think of another that had such huge implications for the Cuban fighter.
Biggest fight in the history of Cuban boxing?

LOL what?
Lara-Canelo?
We’re not talking about four division champion, number one p4p and biggest star in boxing Canelo Alvarez.
We’re talking about a guy who had just gotten destroyed by Mayweather.
This is a Cuban getting a shot at Pacquiao.
Also, Canelo-Lara generated 300,000 buys. This one will pass that, obviously.
Rigo-Donaire wasn’t even on PPV. A Cuban getting a shot at Donaire is not bigger than a Cuban getting a shot at Pacquiao. Rigo-Donaire is the poor man’s Pacquiao-Ugas. It isn’t comparable.

Benny Bass and Emile Griffin were not the face of boxing in their eras.
Which is what Manny Pacquiao is.
Sugar Ray Robinson is on that level but I don’t even think that Gavalan fights stack up.
The first fight definitely didn’t.
And I don’t even think the stakes were as high Gavalian in that fight as they are for Ugas in this one. He could go from unknown to beating the face of boxing on PPV.
