    How good was Buddy Mcgirt?

    Not the trainer, the fighter

I always see him used as one of Whitaker's and Taylor's best wins, but I don't know who else he fought other than Simon Brown. What other notable fights did he have that showcased his skills? Was he really good? Or just a bit better than a gatekeeper

He was a slick smooth fighter that had sharp counters. If he fought at his distance he was very technical, he fought frequently and the type of fighters he used to fight made him look even better. With all that he used to look vulnerable when he used to get hit at times. Solid fighter but could not beat the cream of the crop. Solid boxer if you ask me. Always had that alien looking head though.

Very good fighter man Street Cleaner gave a good description of his style, very sharp, accurate, technically on point.

Had some good wins too, destroyed Howard Davis Jr inside one round I think. Davis Jr was an Olympic gold medalist, world amateur champ, he massively under achieved as a pro but still an impressive win. Frankie Warren was a decent win too and Gary Jacobs who was a good fighter from these shores.

But as others have said he always fell short against the elite guys. Simon Brown is definitely the best fighter he beat.
