And then when there are boxing gyms, the fees per month are like paying car insurance rates. Poor families can’t afford that for their kids. Especially when there are 6 or 7 basketball gyms that are free in the area.

At least he gave Cruz a close fight.

Cong**** on the silver, Keyshawn Davis. You guys gave us something to be proud of this time when it came to men's boxing.

Another shhty boxing class from the USA. Having some scrub azz pro’s on the team don’t help. Fact is the USA amateur boxing system is garbage and nothing is going to ever change.

The days of the teams from the early 90’s and before are long gone and having shhty pro’s won’t help.

None of these US Olympians are going to do anything in the pro game.

Silver medals are nothing to be ashamed of. We hadn't brought home this many in a while.

And American Richard Torrez Jr. lost the gold medal match to a 6'7" pro from Uzbekistan. Other countries are sending their pros so why can't we?

I think with headgear being eliminated it suits our style better and we should see more success going forward. Might even get a gold finally. No need to give up on the amateur system, just try to build on this year's success and keep looking for areas to improve.

More medals than 2016, with the sport being a complete after thought here in the states. Like I said, solid class, hater.

              Lol lol lol

Dude, US Amateur boxing sucks, period.

There is no sugar coating it. Ok, we can have pros in there. Then why send some scrub azz pro. Go big or go home. Send Spence, Tank, Haney, charlo and all our top American pros.

This was a better medal haul than we have had in ages. You're completely ignoring that.

If we can build on that then our arrow is pointing up. Why choose to see the glass as half empty instead of half full?

                  Medal haul???

Fact is, this is as good as it ever will get. The only way it gets better is if you send our very best pro’s ie, tank, Spence, charlo, and others. But then again I guarantee you it still wouldn’t help in a 3 round amateur fight.

Dude, this years team is no different than any team we’ve had in the last 20 years. Scrubs and some pros who will do nothing in the pro game.

Having pros on the team doesn’t help. Fact is, if they were true blue chip pros, their management wouldn’t allow them to go back to the amateur game and potentially lose, which they did. This Davis dude winning silver doesn’t boast his profile as a pro.

With olympics too though you need that small bit of luck or a extremely tight decision go your way, Yafai from GB is a prime example AJ and a few others.

For whatever reason, you guys are constantly on receiving end Of close calls to the point where I have to ask myself is there ulterior motives behind it!? Because to not of been given one call? it’s madness.
