Mike Tyson circa 1999-2000 vs Lennox Lewis 2003

Do you think the Mike Tyson who beat Botha and Golovkin is capable of beating The 2003 version of Lennox??

No. Tyson was shot at that time as well.

He was shot before the first Holyfield fight. Holyfield was also past his prime at that point and exposed Tyson for being shot.

Lewis would have had Tyson's number at any point in their respective careers. Lewis had too much length, power, and skill for Tyson.

Also, am I correct in assuming you mean Golota when you say Golovkin?

I meant Golota. Golota was still a beast when Tyson made him quit.

            Shot.

Tyson picked Holyfield because he was supposed to be done.

Rid**** Bowe knocked Holyfield out to take the trilogy and Holyfield had lost to Michael Moorer. He also squeaked by Ray Mercer.

People were calling for Holyfield to retire before the Tyson fight.

If you look at what Holyfield did after the Tyson fight, it seems like the idea he wasn’t the same fighter had a lot of merit to it.

After the Mike Tyson wins, Holyfield finished his career 10-8-3 with one no contest.

Evander Holyfield was not the Evander Holyfield who was supposed to challenge Tyson in the late 80s and early 90s.

But Tyson was even further from that era’s version of himself than Holyfield was.

The best time for Tyson to face Lewis, would of been after he fought Julius Francis 'Around early 2001 or the summer of that year'.

Tyson had been on a good run of fights, Botha, Golota, Savarese, Franics i.e I think he also face Orlin Norris, but the fight was a no contest due to Tyson sparking him out after the bell rang etc

Tyson was clearly in better condition around this time, and had some momentum.

It would of been a better fight, but I am unsure on whether Mike Tyson would of won.
