Yes, PBC has provided the kid w/t dates but have done a horrific job developing the kid. Fact is, most everyone sees the kid as a hype job that’s been gifted a few decisions already. I blame PBC matchmakers for that. Also, African American isn’t a race either but you see Spence, Porter, Thurman identified themselves as thou. Again, this isn’t a race thing simply pointing out Joey could gain a whole new fan base if PBC recognize the kid as Mexican American which he is.Comment

I’m not trying disprove what he is, I’m just saying if he isn’t repping it, it’s obviously because he doesn’t feel a strong connection to his culture. Otherwise he would be. You suggesting that his promoters try and force him to do something he obviously doesn’t care to do is silly. Just so that he can con some gullible fans into supporting him for something he doesn’t connect with? Imo Ryan Garcia looks like a clown trying to go hard repping Mexican culture when he nor his parents could even hold an interview in Spanish. There are people born in the us who still are brought up around their culture, it looks like spencer isn’t one of those and prefers to be himself.

Thank you, for finally admitting that Joey is a Mexican American. Also, it was just a suggestion I never said PBC should force him to rep his Mexican ancestry just that it be wise if they used that angle promoting the kid. Let’s not act like PBC didn’t try that before w/t Danny Garcia or have you forgotten how they made a big fuzz when Danny travelled to Puerto Rico to defend his belt against Herrera. Making it seem like it was a homecoming for Danny even thought that fool didn’t know a lick of Spanish, LOL.Comment

yeah that was clown shet when they did it with Danny and he looked ****** trying to speak Spanish, but if I’m not mistaken, that was a golden boy move, not pbc. Pbc promotes benavidez who clearly chooses to identify with being a Mexican American, I just don’t think spender identifies with culture and likely leans more towards his white side.

Actually, Schafer was running Golden Boy at that time, due to Oscar being in rehab. Let’s not blame Oscar and Co. for that idea it was all Schafer and Uncle Al. Anyhow, I like Benavidez besides Vergil Ortiz don’t see any other Mexican Americans w/t their marketability and upside. Again, I ain’t hating on Spencer really think w/t the right promotion the kid can be a much bigger star than he is now. I remember when Joey first sign w/t PBC they where calling him the next Canelo, now 3 yrs into his journey as a pro most pundits see him as a hype job, all due to horrible matchmaking by PBC.Comment

o actually don’t think it was a bad idea to bring Danny to PR. He was into it and reps PR but they should’ve thought ahead to give him some Spanish lessons so he’s not saying dumb shet like “si que si, si que no”. Lol. I like Benavidez and think if he can get out of his own way with ****** mistakes like coke and missing weight, he can possibly be the man at 168. We’ll have a clearer picture of who Ortiz is after this next fight. Off topic, respect to you for having a debate and actually keeping it civil.
