Because boxing as a sport is in the gutter. They’d be lucky to cover the purse guarantees with the main event let alone an upper tier undercard in support. People just don’t watch or trust boxing anymore. who can blame them with 16+ titles per division?

Name for me a card that’s had proven A listers up and down the card fighting high tier high B sub A listers in the last 3 years that hasn’t bombed? You folks need to get over promotional outfit worship and bashing. Fighters have the ultimate say. If tomm the #1 and #2 of every division walked to their promoters and said get the fight signed or I sit it’d happen in a nanosecond. Other sporting fans of other sports laugh hysterically at boxing and its fans. Because in other sports they take issue with the players as it should be. However in boxing we still yap about the promoters.

        Ridiculous

If i were Crawford, i'd go for Costano @154 after Porter and maybe Virgil Ortiz. If Spence doesn't want the heat, fight his buddy Jermell.
I’m sorry but who has Crawford fought of any notoriety in the last 3 years since his jump to WW? Thaaaaats right he’s been forced to fight his first top tier opponent next.

All I know is, NSB had quite a few threads about Tyson after the Jones exhibition...he beats the current champs, etc. That kind of thing.

Maybe the long layoff made Vicious less likely to quit now. Or maybe he sees Manny still fighting, Berto possibly still fighting, Algieri back fighting, etc. Maybe he sees something in Jamal James that he can exploit. Maybe he saw how easily Joshua got wrecked and figured it'd be easier. Maybe he sees old school pugilists coming back for big paydays because today's boxers aren't stars like the old days. Or maybe he's expecting a vacant belt soon (Crawford).

I mean seriously, who knows what these fighters are thinking?

Go watch the ESPN fight on youtube between Delvin Rodriguez against Pawel Wolak. It was absolutely the best fight I’d ever seen in my life. This fight was the true definition of all out war of pressure fighter vs. pure boxer. Wolak pressured Delvin all night and when I mean pressure I mean some of the toughest pressure I’ve ever seen. I feel most fighters would have broken down mentally at some point. I almost did watching it! However Delvin did not. He found ways to create space and get back to the outside.

What made the fight more magical was the fact that Steve Smoger was the ref. In the entirety of the fight I counted exactly one time that Smoger broke the two fighters up. Only one time in 10 rounds! His non existence was even noticed by Atlas and rightly commended for it. In every clinching situation he never leapt in a single time to break it up.

It is because of this, why the fight became special because it allowed Wolak to fight his inside game and Delvin to counter and break back out to the outside. He could have very well stopped the fight after round 6 as well. The hematoma that developed over the right eye of Wolak was as bad as I’ve seen ever seen. No one would have complained had it been stopped. However Smoger allowed Wolak to be a warrior on this night. To think these fighters only make 15K a piece and gave every bit of themselves.

I always respected Delvin Rodriguez. He wasn’t a great fighter but he was skilled, soft spoken, polite, respectful and was enjoyable to watch.

If this was ever an undercard on a PPV fight people would moan but would miss one of the greatest fights I’ve ever seen. Certainly better than any PPV I’ve ever seen by a mile.

In fact I don’t think many saw the Delvin Rodriguez vs Wolak fight. I’m not overhyping this whatsoever. It is by far one of the best fights I’ve ever seen in my 38 years of watching boxing. If someone saw this fight please feel free to comment!

At this point Ortiz and Guerrero are C-level at best. I’m sure their fight won’t go the distance because theyre shot to bits & haven’t fought anyone worth a damn in forever. It’ll probably be an ugly sloppy slug and clinch fest - but whatever it’s just 1 fight.

I used to follow Fabian Maidanas career years ago and he seemed promising but most of his fights weren’t televised & I kinda forgot about him. Hopefully he pulls a page out his brothers book and rises to the occasion and takes that belt off Ugas. I have no real problem with Ugas I just don’t see him holding on to that strap long and he didn’t beat anyone to get it.

But whatever hopefully Manny has enough in the tank to make the main event worthwhile win lose or draw. I’ll be streaming it anyways so idk why I’m even complaining lol

Only real complaint is Robert vs Victor. That shouldn't even be televised.
