And yeah I agree. He should definitely turn pro now, I think him and Luke both have styles that will be adaptable to the pro’s.
Haha, listening to Porter's podcast and he said "Pat McCormack, he is next! If he turns pro, he is next!"....Glad to see Porter is also a fan of our boy!

Him vs Josh Kelly could be a big fight when he turns pro. Both from Sunderland, so will surely generate some local rivalry.

I just don't get the mindset of staying longer just for the Olympics when you can go pro, make some money and then properly progress to a championship caliber fighter. If you take the average age of the Americans compared to the Brits and just other countries, they tend to be younger and turn pro a lot quicker.....This is why they do better in the pros compared to their peers that were better amateurs. Pat lost four years of pro fighting and I think he may regret this in the long run...He doesn't need many development fights, he needs to be moved quickly.
I’d move him like Josh Taylor was. I don’t think he’s as good as Josh but I’d like to see him moved at a similar pace. Hopefully he doesn’t sign with Eddie, or he’ll be gifting for WBA international titles against scrubs until he’s 15-0. Just ask Buatsi.

When you said Josh....I was going to say Josh Kelly?? Hahah, but yeah, I like that. Move him like Taylor was moved. I don't know if you have seen his fight with Russell from the WSB from four years ago, but take a look at it if you haven't. Pat has a pro style man, he's going to be good from day one.

Who else has money to sign these amateurs other than Eddie though? These youngsters are going to take the most money they can get early on.

I suggested Kelly make his move to America and start training here and I'm afraid if he doesn't, he's not going to do much at the top level. He needs to start getting some hard training against these pressure fighters. I thought going to Derrick James gym would have been great for him.

But I wouldn't mind that fight. Think McCormark should be ready for him soon.

I dont know if ya'll feel the same. But having a pro boxer win gold makes me think, meeeehhhhh. To me the shine of winning a gold medal is gone if you are a pro boxer who wins Olympic gold.

This Ragan dude, or any other pro boxer who wins gold. Big ****ing deal.

I dont think the promotional outfits will clamor that much to them. Ragan is 4-0 with 1KO as a pro. That smells like a boring boxer to me and someone who promotional companies wont go crazy for. When a guy like Floyd Mayweather turned pro, he was body bagging guys while showing his incredible skill level.

4 pro fights is nothing. A lot of these international fighters are older guys who have been in multiple Olympic games.

To me, it a shht having pro boxers from the US box in the Olympics.

Using this Ragan dude as an example. What good does it do this guy winning gold? With a 4-0 1KO pro record, he’s shown he has zero power at the pro level. If you can’t KO dudes who are straight up bums when you first turn pro, then you are just a boring azz fighter who will garner zero attention.

I think its crap the US amateur boxing program would allow that.

Yeah I’ve seen that fight, I remember watching it cause McGrail was fighting Stevenson. He had a very disappointing Olympics.

Unfortunately I agree, unless he signs with an big American company and is based abroad, I expect he signs with Matchroom. I think Joyce is the only member of the 2016 class who didn’t sign with Matchroom, but aside from Okollie all of them have been matched terribly IMO. Hearn is a good salesman and is good at drawing attention but his matchmaking is shocking at times. He needs to hire somebody to help him with that. Not sure whether he’s still using Paul Ready or that Italian dude but neither are doing a good job IMO.

Yeah I’ve almost given up on Kelly, instead of badly imitating Roy Jones he needs to utilise his fundamentals. I think he’s developed bad habits with all the pointless showboating. I hate when fighters showboat against journeymen, like that’s not impressive at all. Ali, Ray, Roy, Naz, Floyd etc would showboat against a world class fighters. But yeah I think a change of scenery could be good for him.
