Devin Haney says he wants either Richard Commey or Joseph ‘Jo Jo’ Diaz Jr as his next fight in October or November. Former IBF lightweight champion Commey (30-3, 27 KOs) recently called Haney (26-0, 15 KOs) out on social media, so he’s excited about that.

Unfortunately for Haney, Commey is now in negotiations to potentially face Vasily Lomachenko on December 11th on ESPN. With that fight potentially off the table, Haney may need to look elsewhere for an opponent for October or November...

“I got to keep winning and beat these top guys to show that I am the top dog. I want all of them. Right now, we’re looking at Richard Commey and Jo Jo Diaz. Jo Jo Diaz is lagging; he’s not really showing that he wants to fight. He says things to the media, but in reality, he hasn’t really shown [interest]. We’re also looking at Richard Commey if we can’t get a fight against Jo Jo Diaz. Richard Commey is interested in fighting Loma, but the deal isn’t signed yet. We know they are in talks, but he [Commey] will get a title shot and make more money fighting me, so we got to see. And I’m willing to go to ESPN to make the fight happen just to show you that I’m the top dog,” Haney said.

Haney gets no credit for beating Commey as Lopez already destroyed him. Diaz fight is better but if he doesn't want it then Haney is really struggling to get an opponent. Jo Jo needs to take this fight otherwise what was the point of him stepping up to 135. He needs to follow through what he started and if he doesn't then the WBC needs to stop sanctioning GBP fighters for mandatories if they can't follow through with the title shot. That of course won't happen as Mauricio is milking this bogus interim title for every dollar.

Trust me it makes zero sense to anybody. I dont think they are afraid of Haney but common sense says he is more technically advanced than both and a tough out unless they land a big shot on him

It's ruining boxing. I feel for the fighters because they, I believe would genuinely fight anybody ( well most of the time as clearly Garcia don't won't Haney lol ), but are held back from those big fights by promoters and networks.
If the WBC had balls, they would've dropped Ryan Garcia back to like #10, and if Jo Jo swerves too, then drop him to #11!!!

He would get credit from me! I think Commey is stronger than Linares! I actually think Commey is a tougher fight than Jo Jo Diaz!

No you misunderstand me and if my txt has misled you my apologies. I mean if he were to fight Commey he'll get no credit as it would be hard to best Teo's result therefore it's not a good option and the Diaz fight is the better option.

If Haney fights Commey or Rolly at 135, I'm good with that! Interesting that Arum is considering Loma vs. Commey, but not Loma vs. Haney???

Yes you make great points and I would give him credit also as Commey is not a bad fight for Haney at this stage. But the haters will see him as Teo's leftovers just as Campbell would be Garcia's leftovers, just as Gamboa was Davis's leftovers. In many peoples eyes it's not a good look if he's always getting to these people second.

I agree with Bradley. Tank is more proven and I think he hits harder with better accuracy and takes a punch better. Tank almost always wins by KO. Garcia is a hard attacking fighter so I think Tank KOs him in the early rounds.
