If you look at the actual clinical data etc there is some nuance, firstly Ivermectin is an antiparasitic, as you may or may not know covid sars 2 is a virus, not a parasitic infection, so its not off to a great start. Next up Ivermectin has been shown to kill covid in vitro, however the dosage required to do this was extremely high (50 times higher than recommended dose). Cyanide probably kills covid in vitro, it also kills humans if ingested.

There have been a number of low quality small studies showing varying results, some show effectiveness, some don't. The most promising study showing it was effective was retracted as the data was shown to be fraudulent.

Right now its where hydroxychloroquine was 9 months ago, ignorant people hyping it as the answer with no solid data, but trials are ongoing, maybe it will turn out to be somewhat effective, or like hydroxychloroquine shown to have no benefit with harmful side effects. Either way its obviously not the silver bullet, otherwise there wouldn't be studies showing no effect between those that have taken it and not.

Covid is a virus and is not a parasitic organism so the only way to "CURE" covid would be antiretroviral medication.
