You know I had a talk with a newer promoter from Queens, one from the Bronx and a manager who has a fighter from Little Italy and Harlem; none of those higher ups would hire Mark Breland after the way Vernon Forrest career turned out. As we all know the P.O.S Wilder is which is funny because the promoter in Queens is linked up the Supreme Team who you would think would love Wilder, but no, he and those around find Wilder to be some country bumpkin who should be fighting in Mexico or Haiti,( Not the DR or Jamaica those are for more mid level events). So why is Breland and Wilder discussed at nauseum as both failed to create the next American Heavyweight
Mark Breland isn't highly thought of honestly

You can lead a horse to water but you can't force it to drink.
Deontay is an ego-maniac who completely fell in love with his power, i don't think it mattered who his trainer is/was, Deontay clearly doesn't listen.
Anyway Deontay was WBC champion for 5 years under Breiland, not exactly a bad career

I don't think you would find a lot of people who are calling him a great trainer, his main guy was Wilder, that is where he makes his bread. And that guy thought he doesn't need anything else apart from the right hand. As a boxer he was thought of highly though.Comment

As one of the few posters here that I respect, I have to disagree with you on Wilder's career. Wilder's career under Lou Dibella was lackluster as Lou was spending more money on promoting Wilder than he was making on purses and this was after Wilder had won twenty or so fights. Now do I have an axe to grind with Wilder and Breland, sure, but out of the two Wilder is the one who damaged the company I worked for business. I've waited five years to see him knocked down a peg and I will gladly wait seven years to see his career ended, he is no further than Charles Martin in terms of a career. Now be that as it may I admit he has a low percentage punchers chance to change his future against Fury; while I don't believe he can because mostly Fury is 6'9 270, can move and it doesn't matter if you're AJ, Ruiz, Ortiz or Whyte the same thing that happened to Wilder is possible for them and unless boxing wants to give Fury his own division he will dominate the heavyweight division for the foreseeable future. Now to Breland, Mark could've left and I know everyone says ride the wave but there were cracks back in 2015 and those with eyes could see it. From the trainers I know: Thell Torrance, Rickey Hesia and Pat Barry all of them said Wilder was beatable. In fact Rickey Hesia, was working with Gerald Washington and had Washington performed like he was supposed to he would've beaten Wilder by decision and not only derailed and possibly end his signing with PBC but saved the boxing world from what he became. When Mark noticed he wouldn't listen he should've left because the trainers I mentioned would've abandoned Wilder that minute. You can lead a horse to water but you can't force it to drink.

With Vernon he performed well enough my only issue is he should've left Wilder the minute Wilder showed insubordination, I know trainers that would've dropped Wilder even during his rise at the top because if they can't reach him it makes no sense to continue to train or pretend to train him.Comment

It's all about money, Wilder was his main major payday. This is why i laughed every time i see those braindead Americans who think Breland "mess with Wilder's water"... Like he would F up his own payday because he is "Friends with Sugarhill" and use to fight under the Kronk gym..
