Manny Pacquiao has made a decision to train at home. He plans to start his training camp at a location in Baguio, Philippines on September 17 or 18. After Pacquiao finishes up his media tour for the November 14 bout with Miguel Cotto, he plans to start training immediately. Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach wanted a quiet, secret location in Toluca, Mexico. He fears the constant visits from reporters and fans will distract Pacquiao in Baguio. Both Pacquiao and Roach agree that Cotto will be the toughest opponent that they ever had to deal with. [details]Last edited by mrboxer; 09-04-2009, 03:31 PM.Comment

I am not a Pacquaio fan, but I think Pac would be much better off listening to his trainer instead of his "advisers" and his own ego when it comes to training and boxing. As a basketball commentator once said, "dance with the girl that got you to the dance."
Many of you may not remember when Zab Judah fought Kostya Tyszu. Judah was schooling Tyszu in the first two rounds, came back to his corner and told his trainer/father that this fight was easy. His father/trainer, very sternly, told him this was not an easy fight and that he needed to take it seriously. In the next round, Judah dropped his hands and leaned back while trying to avoid a punch, got nailed and ended up doing a modern version of the funky chicken.
If Pac doesn't take this fight seriously, something similar will happen to him.Comment
