Completely disagree. The problem is a lot of “fans” on this site let their personal bias and hatred affect how they interact with the sport.

I may not like certain people personally, but I still watch the sport when it comes on. No I don’t watch every card, but I do watch the majority.

We have a ton of “fans” that put politics and race ahead of the sport and therefore don’t watch certain fighters or cards out on by specific companies. They Criticize the poor quality cards from only 1 or 2 companies while supporting the one they like regardless of the quality. Of course the promoters haven’t helped things with their political battles and often refusal to make the fights most people want to see the most.

They talk about who fighters haven’t fought than they do about the actual fights. They also are never satisfied with an opponent unless it’s a fighter they like.

Are there problems- yes there are. They are fixable. But a major fight will always generate significant buzz and dominate the landscape. The sport just needs to make them happen.

That's because instead of forgetting that Al Haymon stole GBP fighters YOU and the world of Haymonites just throw everyday racism to justify your ideologies for boxing. You're the same idiot that said DAZN would fail. Just because fans of the sport criticized PBC during its inception doesn't mean you have to apply wah-wah racism for the overall good of DAZN. It's obvious...you and the rest of the crybabies on this site would say ''you just don't want to see a successful black man...'' garbage whenever fans criticized Haymon..as if he were impervious to malpractice. Look at the idiots that blame the fans. Like it’s the fans that create the “other side of the street” and it’s their fault the fights they want to see don’t happen.

The sport has been in turmoil since Haymon came onto the scene protecting individual fighters, then creating the “other side of the street” between GBP and TR, now he’s got his own league where he tells you who are the best fighters and tells you what fights you want to see.

When I joined this forum it was a hell of a lot of style breakdowns, fight breakdowns, predictions, boxing highlights and post-fight gif threads. Now it’s everyday just sides giving their excuses as to why these guys aren’t fighting and wont fight. No one talks or gives much of a *** about actual boxing anymore. The politics is the only thing left to talk about,

Haymon didn’t steal anything imo. Even if that is your opinion, I watch the fighters promoted by coke and the Spanish cards fishnets puts on with his fighters. I also watch many of the DAZN cards.

Giving an opinion about a channel on a discussion forum doesn’t mean I don’t support the sport. I reacted to the problems DAZN experienced during the initial broadcast and I’ve given opinions that the ppv model isn’t dead.

I’ve criticized pbc as well. Criticism is fine. But you and Other “fans”don’t watch because you don’t want Al to do well solely because he is black. That is a recent phenomenon as part of a hyper politicized world.

We have “ fans” that openly advocate and brag about boycotting haymon fighters and shows just because he’s black. That hurts the sport.

It also hurts the sport when “ fans” only support haymon shows and don’t watch DAZN or espn for political reasons as well. I haven’t purchased DAZN but I find legal ways to watch their boxing content.

Yes it’s “ fans” like you that are just as much of the problem. You only blame Haymon for “ fights you want to see that don’t happen “. When ever it’s DAZN, TR or GBP that do it, you either say nothing or watch what they give you.

Look at your post. Haymon had been on the scene. There was never an issue until HBO got rid of him. instead of him going away he decided to compete. You and others have been angry at him ever since because he dared to try and compete. Why did try at bother you so much?

So yeah, out of necessity he created the “ other side of the street “. HBO guys wouldn’t work with him so he found a way to succeed. Yet you blame him instead of the people that ostracized him.

As to your last paragraph, that’s the “ fans” on this site. That is how they operate now. So if you notice the difference than it’s clear the “ fans” are part of the problem. No promoter or channel controls what “ fans” post in this forum.

Most LDBC members have purchased DAZN. They’ve admitted it. You know, their boxing content agendas require it, and I’ve heard 78Sports say “i ain’t funna front on DAZN tbh, that sht is cheap like a sammich.” He said that a couple times in 2019. So u don’t have to pretend you haven’t purchase DAZN for Canelo fights. It’s affordable, so you don’t have to say “legal ways” as if you were broke.

and Balderas was correct doe? Haymon did ruin Abner and Leo… lol. Good thing Linares still doing his thing. He’s given better fights than Leo or Mares. Leo ducked Rigo too. Linares at least fought Loma. Again, Balderas was right… lol

And in the 90s you had people saying "boxing is dead, they don't fight each other like they did in my day".

The 90s was overrated. We got some good fights but the heavies didn't typically fight each other until they were over the hill.

We all say the same now, yet we might have Wilder/Fury, Fury/Wilder, Joshua/Ruiz, Ruiz/Joshua, Joshua/Usyk... and second string bouts like Dubois/Joyce, Whyte/Povetkin, Povetkin/Whyte, Wilder/Ortiz etc. There have been plenty of decent fights in the last 3 or so years. All these guys appear in top 5s. They're first tier fighters.

In years to come people will probably look back and ask why their generation don't fight like they did in the 2015-2025 era.

The problem is, is that in paying fighters big money to get the fights, they now expect big money to fight anyone that is a risk to their own progression towards a mega fight with a big name. That is what is killing boxing. It's not dead but it has a disease that is spreading.

Eddie Hearn. He has really contributed the most to this system. He's made it clear that he will pay big money to get Joshua in the ring for titles. Now those fighters who have lost to AJ on PPV still demanding figures that range in the millions.

Here's a good example of this BS. Luis Ortiz. He only banked 500k for Wilder 1. Then he made 375k v TRAVIS f--king KAUFFMAN then demands 10 million to fight AJ. How the f--k does that work!?

Point is, its not about belts and all the accolades that are with you for the short time you box. Its more about getting paid as much as you can before you become irrelevant. Its the handful that make it above that who have the money in the bank already that have the luxury of thinking otherwise.
