not right now they are not. hell , they are not even doing anything to protect the PI territories from China even with the backing of other countries like Japan, Australia, Malaysia etc. Many times duterte threatened to void the mutual defense treaty with the US and balikatan, the AFP did not show signs of disagreement. This all because duterte was smart enough to give important positions to high military officials eventhough they are not qualifed or have dirty records...Marcos did the same wooing the sympathy of the military and police as soon as they were elected.

reagan was a very good president (ref reaganomics) and with the exception of his dumbass mouth , trump was too......pac aint even a good senator man, he's just not wired like that. carter was bad but was a naval academy graduate so you know he was somewhat a man with brains....pac is a dumbass, t is what it is!

I'm glad to here that. My fiance is filipino and we both used to like Duterte until he started this vigilante justice against drug dealers, pandemic bs and now taking a knee to China. She doesn't think so but I think Pac is exactly the type of thinking that country needs. Hoping they open the borders for tourist soon.

This is why Duterte position is tenuous at best. Turns out the Philippine Military was ready to work out 15 Billion dollar deal with the Trump admin (F-18s, stryker vehicles, 3 ticonderoga cruisers were part of the package) and Duterte scuttled the plan, when Subic Bay Freeports dock South Korean owner went bankrupt Duterte wanted to sell it to a Chinese Ship building company and the Phil Military warned him that if he did that their would be a coup, so instead it was sold to an Australian Firm whose also supplies the US 7th fleet/Pacific air forces.

Fidel Ramos (former president, WestPoint graduate , retired general ) pulled his support when he was how pro China Duterte is.

Pacquiao was an ally of Duterte till he isn't since he wants his daughter to run....

Duterte really screwed Pinas with his pandemic measures, also his utter ass kissing to China made him pretty much a puppet to china, His drug war meant squat since he only went after low level drug dealers and did NOTHING TO STOP the 14k triads who control the flow of drugs in the region.

I actually voted absentee for him and his utter disaster FP wise made me regret it. (I am both a US and Philippine citizen).
