To cut down another 21lbs on top of that would, at the very least, leave a LHW ridiculously weak -- and probably dangerously so. To dismiss it as just a trivial matter of discipline is disingenuous.

And even following through with your logic: if the average fighter is walking around 60lbs above the weight limit. For his fight against Askren, Paul weighed 191.5 lbs.

Now do the math and tell me how he would only need to lose 21lbs to get down to 154lbs?

If he's walking around 40lbs higher than the fighting weight of 191.5lbs, then he is walking around at 230+lbs and would need to lose a mammoth 84lbs...

And even assuming he didn't lose any weight at all in for the weigh-in against Askren, then his walking around weight is 191.lbs, it's still more than 37.5lbs he'd have to lose.

In a nutshell: Paul has fought so far at cruiserweight. Given his size I think he could fight LHW, possibly SMWat a push (as I said before). Which is to say, I think he could comfortably drop one division, two at a push. But anyone asking a fighter to drop four weight divisions simply doesn't want the fight.
I get what you’re sayin’ and took that into account...Jared Hurd was 215 and had to fight the last guy at 160...that’s 55 pounds and had he’d got down to 154 that’s a 61 pound cut...no doubt they’re gonna be weak...that is what they signed up for if they want marquee fights and money...we see fighters do this all the time...that’s why I said the disciplined ones walk around fighting weight and don’t let extra fat pile up on them causin’ them to have to lose “84 pounds” in the first place!!!...

You said it “weight matters is in boxing”...just like the sayin’ “Weight classes are made for a reason”...Floyd is nowhere the size of Jake Paul so it’s not that he’s duckin’ or doesn’t want the fight...it’s just that if you wanna fight a guy 4 weight classes below you...then you need to come down somewhere in the middle...point...blank...period!!!...or you don’t want the fight!!!...Unless you have a ridiculously unfair weight advantage...and “Weight matters in boxing”...Your words!!!...

I think we largely agree. Weight matters.

I also agree with your suggestion that if fighters from vastly different weight classes are going to fight, the fairest thing is to try and meet in the middle or not fight at all.

Mayweather's most recent professional fight was at 154lbs. Paul's most recent fight was at Cruiser, but for your benefit, let's say he is a light heavy. So 175bs. 19lbs between them. Half of which is 9.5lbs. So they should fight at a catchweight of 163.5lbs.

Clearly, 154lbs is Mayweather compromising nothing and his opponent having to concede everything. Which is a bit emabarassing if you are the GOAT and you are fighting someone with very little experience in the field.

In summary: Mayweather doesn't want the fight. If he did, he would offer to meet in the middle.

Manny was negotiating to fight Connor. The only reason they didn’t fight is because Connor was KO’d (proof below).
As for the 19 year old and a YouTuber, everyone that speaks English fluently knows that those are exhibition fights. They had no judges and do not count towards Floyd’s boxing record. Since English is your 2nd language, I can understand how you mistakenly thought those were real fights. Now you know.
