JMM is a far more intelligent fighter than Hatton. He's already said he's going to pressure Floyd. but I suspect he'll try to apply intelligent, measured pressure with a jab.
Hatton tried to pressure by running straight in, with his hands down.Comment

I dont even think it was something that needed to be asked (no offense).
Im JMM should do much better than hatton against floyd...he wont kiss the corner post i tell you that. haha jk jk.
I for one have always viewed marquez as someone who is much more technically sound that hatton. Hatton reminds me of a blue collar worker who fights for side money for fun.
If that makes any sense. and its not a knock on hatton, thats just the way he fights.
JMM is put in a difficult position though. He can attempt to play counterpuncher but remember who he's fighting; floyd mayweather jr. so against someone of mayweather's talent/skill he wont get many counterpunching oppertunities. so he'd HAVE TO make each chance count in his favor.
Or he can go on the aggressive side (which i think may be his only option) and push the action. make floyd feel uncomfortable and feel the need to throw punches.
marquez needs to fight him (in my opinion) like Oscar and JLC did. he needs to pressure like oscar did (of course punch a little more accurately) and he needs to work the body early, often, and consistantly (like JLC). Something along those lines would earn him a W if he also doesnt forget his counterpunching and defense.
It might not be a walk in the park...and it more than likely wont happen but JMM has all the ability in the world to win the fight.we've all seen what he can do in the past against of of the greats he's fought...so he obviously has it in him...the only questions are does he have the right gameplan? will he see floyd the way he hopes to? see all the punches coming? etc.
but to answer the question i believe he'll do much better than hatton. he's got a much bigger set of skills and he's smart with a great trainer (nacho!)
JMM has more versitility than hatton.Comment
