Comments Thread For: Roger Gutierrez-Rene Alvarado Trilogy Bout Added To Ortiz-Kavaliauskas

Roger Gutierrez and Rene Alvarado are ready to run it back, mere miles from their previous meeting. BoxingScene.com has learned that a rubber match is in store for the pair of junior lightweights, who will collide August 14 at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The bout comes just seven months after their fiercely contested rematch, where Venezuela's Gutierrez earned a narrow unanimous decision victory to claim a secondary version of the WBA junior lightweight title at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

Would love to Speedy Ellis added as the co-main, maybe against an Antonio Orozco or Sadam Ali.

How about giving Cancio a rematch, regardless of the outcome of this bout, next? The way GBP did Andrew was dirty. Cutting him a couple of days after he lost the belt, just because he questioned their promotional tactics. I bet if he won or claimed “mental-health” as an issue the story would have been different. Great fight nonetheless, I’ll be tuned in.
