Did Chavez quit against De la Hoya on their second fight?

I had an argument with some hardcore paisa fellas today and they insisted that Chavez never quit. I came back home and just saw the fight and even Larry Merchant said "Chaves pulled a no mas" and " the doctor said Chavez could continue but he chose not to".

Chavez shoulda never been in there with Oscar to begin with. Oscar came in at 165lbs that night, Chavez was old and walked into the ring at about 145lbs. What point are you trying to make? **** thread.
