Liam Smith forced Liam Williams to quit at Manchester and then beat him again in England's 'Newcastle'. Incidentally, Tim Tszyu's reign has been so great at Newcastle South Wales Australia, that the Aussies demanded that the owners of the Newcastle Entertainment center rename the venue 'Tszyu-Castle', in honor of the 'Soul-Taker'.
Tim Tszyu, is destined to conquer the UK, Newcastle is ideal grounds to plant Tszyu's flag on British soil. Liam Smith, Anthony Fowler, Ted Cheeseman, Scott Fitzgerald and the rest of the English-Bums will never tear down the walls of 'Tszyu-Castle', bring them all on!
Danny Garcia is too dangerous for Tszyu and Tony Harrison would be a tricky style matchup.
I hope I'm wrong, though.
you know...it doesn't have to be either/or. He could face Smith....then Harrison/Garcia. Also, let's not oversell Harrison and Garcia because they aren't unbeatable: Harrison just struggled against a former WW in Peralta and Garcia is an unknown commodity at 154. If Tszyu doesn't fight them, it's probably down to typical political bullshxt.
I think Beefy's the most likely for promotional reasons and he's more likely to be willing to travel (he travelled to Russia for his last outing ffs) but I reckon any of 'em would be a great opponent for Tim next and would give us a far better idea of where he stands on the world stage. I think every one of these three presents a very stern test and honestly as much as I'm rooting for the kid I ain't yet fully convinced of his quality... either way hope one of these at least comes together.
Sounds like they made some good choices then, agree that Tszyu needs more challenges before even thinking of championship stuff. Like all Aussie trained boxers I'm suspect of his defensive responsibility, geez even Spark marked him up a bit even if Tim was not being too serious a couple got through that shouldn't have.
A good name and a very strong test for him too would be Austin Trout! I know Austin been trying to fight at 147 but he is at his best at 154 anyway. Network and Promotional Free Agent too so much easier to make without the Politics
Going to be expensive to get Tim to leave Australia and come to the States but I would love to see it eventually
