    Two Puerto Rican triumph in the world boxing championship

    Puerto Ricans McJoe Arroyo and Jose Pedraza achieved victories on Tuesday to start in Milan, Italy, the world championship of amateur boxing in the 554 competing athletes from 133 countries.

    Arroyo, who fought at 54 kilograms, won a clear decision of the judges on the Slovak 13-3 Martin Parlági.

    Boxing Federation of Puerto Rico said in a press release that Arroyo returns on Saturday in a fight against the Portuguese Pedro Matos.

    Pedraza, who is fighting at 60 pounds, managed to win 10-4 on Abdlay Anarbay of Kazakhstan. On Friday made his second bout with Enkhzorig Zorigtbaatar, Mongolia.

    Cristian Peguero, at 69 kilos, debuts this Thursday in combat against A. Boimirov, in Kazakh, while McWilliam Arroyo, McJoe's twin brother, will fight on Friday, but the Federation did not announce the name of her rival.

    Los puertorriqueños McJoe Arroyo y José Pedraza lograron victorias el martes al iniciarse en Milán, Italia, el campeonato mundial de boxeo amateur en el que compiten 554 atletas de 133 países.

    Arroyo, quien combatió en los 54 kilogramos, obtuvo una amplia decisión de los jueces de 13-3 sobre el eslovaco Martin Parlági.

    La Federación de Boxeo de Puerto Rico indicó en comunicado de prensa que Arroyo reaparece el sábado en pelea ante el portugués Pedro Matos.

    Pedraza, quien pelea en los 60 kilogramos, logró victoria por 10-4 sobre Abdlay Anarbay, de Kazajistán. El viernes realiza su segundo combate ante Enkhzorig Zorigtbaatar, de Mongolia.

    Cristian Peguero, en los 69 kilos, debuta este jueves en combate ante A. Boimirov, de Kasajistán, mientras que McWilliam Arroyo, el hermano gemelo de McJoe, relizará su primera pelea el viernes, pero la Federación no anunció el nombre de su rival.
