  • Comments Thread For: NSAC Votes Unanimously To No Longer Issue Disciplinary Action For Marijuana Use

The antiquated ways of testing for marijuana in the state of Nevada has officially gone up in smoke. A watershed moment came of the most recent monthly agenda hearing as held by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), whose five-member chairperson panel voted unanimously to no longer offer disciplinary action for combat sport athletes who test positive for cannabis. The matter was presented before the commission in line with a memorandum issued by Nevada deputy Attorney General Edward Magaw on June 28.

These pieces of sht should be forced to compensate the athletes that were affected by this ridiculous law. Those who they robbed of not only money but precious time. Those who weren’t able to compete and make a living to take care of their families. ***n scum

So are they gonna give Chavez Jr. his money back?? With interests for the months suspended? What´s next, you can o a bit of ******* too ?? Drugs are no part of sports. At least not prior to a fight or game.

Either it's a sport or it's a pot party...which is it? This doesn't clean up boxing. Mike Tyson is probably spinning in his chair.

So it’s true, the nutters really do run the nut house. So basically we now give boxers, who often come from broken homes mired with substance misuse, carte blanche to mingle with drug pushers. Bad move boxing, very bad move. But I suppose we will further see who is serious about their careers and what they out in their bodies and who will effectively self medicate….

I don't enjoy weed but it is certainly not a performance enhancer and people who do like it certainly ought to be able to enjoy it pro athlete or not. Just no recourse for past suspensions, it was against the rules then.

I’ve never looked down on anyone that smoked pot. I dabbled in it in my younger years. However, sports are to have discipline and focus. Pot has no place and no business whatsoever in sports. Period, end of story.
