Comments Thread For: Fury-Wilder III: Mike Ortega To Serve As Referee For Heavyweight Trilogy Bout

For the second straight time in their three-fight series, Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will fight in front of a four-person officiating panel all hailing from the United States. Veteran referee Mike Ortega has been named by the Nevada State Athletic Commission as the third man in the ring for the third fight between England's Fury (30-0-1, 21KOs) and Alabama's Wilder (42-1-1, 41KOs). Connecticut's Ortega was recommended by NSAC executive director Bob Bennett and unanimously approved by the five-chairperson panel during the commission's monthly agenda hearing held Wednesday via remote conference call.

Three American judges for Fury-Wilder II, three American judges for Fury-Wilder III. American refs for all three fights, natch.

Wilder just wants a level playing field doe.

What if the party ****** wins, should he give fury a rematch? Or go straight to Joshua?

as a fight fan which do you prefer?

Has Deontay checked if Mike Ortega is corrupt and might be on the take?

He better do his due diligence while there is still time. I don't want to hear after the fight that Fury or Arum or Mark Breland or SugarHill Steward or the Dirrel Bros bribed the ref!

Fury is getting robbed if he doesn't stop him again.

Uncle Al saw the money the Arabs put up - that slavemaster wants some of that when he cashes out Bumsquad against Joshua.

Rematch for Fury before anything for Joshua as fans would want to see Fury redeem himself against Wilder most of all -- relegating Fury/Joshua to a mere afterthought.

Harman, I'm pretty sure she gave some dodgy scorecards. I don't think this fight will go the distance anyway.
