Let's Talk GBP's DAZN Card on Friday.....

    Gilberto Ramirez vs Sullivan Barrera
    Jojo Diaz vs Javier Fortuna
    Seneisa Estrada vs Tenkai Tsunami
    Hector Tanajara vs William Zepeda

This is a pretty damn good card top to bottom. Really looking forward to Diaz vs Fortuna as that fight should be competitive and has big implications on who is getting their shot next at Haney. Diaz missed weight last fight and had a terrible training camp where he feinted a few times trying to make weight so it seems like he made the right decision moving up. Fortuna is a tough opponent and won't make it easy for him. Should be a barnburner!

Zurdo is lining up a Bivol showdown for later this year and he is fighting a common opponent with Bivol in Barrera. Is Barrera still in peak form? No, but he's better than Zurdo's past few opponents at LHW. May not be the best of fights but solid nonethless.

I'll be honest, not very knowledgable with women's fighting but Estrada is going for another title in a different weight class.

Tanajara vs Zepeda is the fight I am looking forward to the most of maybe the second most behind Diaz/Fortuna. Zepeda looked good on the Ring City card last year and Tanajara was a really good amateur that hasn't put it together in the pros just yet. He doesn't have power which makes his fights tougher than they should be and he's fighting a guy that comes to take your heard off. Tanajara has the ability to outbox Zepeda but also can get stopped. Hoping Tanajara shines and gets in the hunt with the other top LWs.

I'm with you on Tanajara-Zepeda. That's interesting to me. Not sure on who I'm picking between Diaz and Fortuna. Diaz is the better fighter imo but Fortuna isn't an easy introduction to lightweight all. I'm hoping the winners of those 3 fights all go into bigger fights. Bivol-Ramirez, Haney-Diaz/Fortuna winner and the Tanajara-Zepeda winner could even be a decent return fight for Ryan Garcia.

That's a fine Friday card for sure.

Had to look up the event though cause some of the names confused me with other fighters who have the same last name.

Always enjoy watching Seneisa Estrada fight too. Don't know anything about Tenkai Tsunami but she's been fighting for 16 years as a pro and a 39% KO percentage is pretty good for a woman especially one with 12 losses.

Sorry, should have just gone with the full names instead of the last names only.

Well, I should have used some common sense too. Not like Juan Estrada and Jose Zepeda would be having some low-key friday night fights without any promotion or talk. Especially considering the Chocolatito rematch already setup etc.

Fortuna has looked sharp as of late and isn't an easy out for anyone. Jojo will have to be at his best or close to his best to win this one.

Garcia is returning soon so it won't be the winner of Tanajara vs Zepeda. But wouldn't hate the winner getting Garcia next, if the Tank fight can't be made.
Bivol and Ramirez are really doing jack sh^t right now so I hope that fight does get made next as both need a fight like this one.

Ha... good job someone put this thread up else we might not have had a Pick Em this week, for some reason I only checked what was on the 10th... still getting my wits together after the weekend I guess.

Don't know enough about Zepeda and Tanajara to make a call and ain't had time to research 'em yet, but any matchup between unbeaten prospects 20 or so fights in has to be worth alook. Reports I read suggest a nice boxer vs puncher match up. Diaz vs Fortuna has to be good value although I'm maybe leaning alittle towards Fortuna myself. Zurdo vs Barrera? Sounds better than it is IMO. Sullivans old and coming off two years out and an L. He'll come to fight, I'm sure but this is hardly the step up most would probably like to see from Zurdo.

Guessing you had a few too many watching the England game as well? I was that bladdered I fell into my swimming pool and have bruised my tailbone on the stairs.

Fortuna vs Diaz is a great fight. I’m leaning Diaz but I’m admittedly a big fan of JoJo so I’m slightly bias. I expect Ramirez to stop Barrera, make a statement at 175, not that beating Barrera is that much of a statement at this point.

I'd be impressed if Zurdo can stop Barrera tbh. But that would be a nice statement heading into the Bivol showdown.

Yeah, I'm a fan of Jojo's as well and hope he wins. Something tells me you became a bigger Jojo fan when he beat Farmer .
