    The real reason was money.

He was offered 200 k and it says there he was suppose to get 400 k minimum/fight so youcan see why he didn't wanna fight.

King has been doing this stuff to a lot of his fighters. Devon Alexander was sitting around for almost a year without a fight. I think Nate Campbell was also having problems getting big fights with him. Don was big and powerful in his day, but he needs to step down and retire if he can't keep his fighters relevant and active.

King doesn't keep his fighters there, he's been frozen out by HBO, for example. In spite of that, he's gotten Mayorga plenty of huge fights well past his prime. Well-paying affairs he had no business being in. Tito, Oscar, Vargas, Mosley, etc. What more does he want?

Why oh why do fighters keep signing with Don King. What the hell is he pitching them in those meetings.

Plenty of cash up front is a great incentive to sign a bad contract when you don't have much money to begin with.

                    That's one of his tactics.

quoted for truth. king is no worse than the other promoters. he is just the most infamous. yet he still finds a way to be a part of some decent events
