Will PBC/Al Haymon keep Caleb Plant away from Canelo?

There's no reason why this fight shouldn't be made for September.

Other than PBC not wanting Canelo to take the IBF belt with him to other networks.

Apparently negotiations have started well but I wouldn't be surprised if team Canelo pull out last minute from not being happy with something they could of mentioned at the start and then pull a replacement out of thin air and get it booked and signed in virtually no time at all.

In fact by mid August somebody will let slip that they are lined up to fight plant, there will be radio silence from team Plant and that person will end up fighting him.

Call me cynical, call me a hater, you may as well I am both those things but it don't mean it won't happen.

This is a very good question. At first we all joked about Haymon not having Plant face Canelo LONG AGO as hyperbole, but I would’ve thought Plant TRULY wanted Canelo because he has for 4 years stated he wanted to be Undisputed… imagine an Undisputed fight against the #1 P4P?

Haymon been having Benavidez next as mando. Haymon been gunning for Morrell as mando. The WBA mandated GGG vs Jacobs (Super vs Regular). So it definitely means Haymon can exercise these forces to make the WBA happy. What Canelo has got going is his star power and sanctioning fees. However, Haymon will always push a legal route if the WBA were to delay….

so the questions is… how funky ****** is Haymon to simply block Canelo from being Undisputed? It’s really up to Haymon and Floyd. Floyd has investment at PBC. He’s Al’s Sam Rothstein matchmaker. So if Floyd says “don’t give that fool Undisputed,” Haymon has to obey.

I don’t think Plant has any saying power no matter the purse and will tuck in his tail the way DSG was quiet and uncomfortable in the background in Colbert’s recent interview. These guys want to do what Haymon says because PBC fighters have always been given incentives on the sideline. People refer that as the “side money.”

So posters may be right that the Plant fight might not happen. It might cause Canelo to vacate some belts too. When Canelo was stripped the IBF by former Haymon employee -DiBella with Derevyanchenko, Canelo didn’t bother with Undisputed for Andrade because it would mean Canelo would have to go back and fight winner of GGG Derev. That’s why, and GBP were smart, to have secured Kovalev way back in Q1 of 2019 headlines, and my maybe that’s why we’re seeing some foreshadowing from Hearn about Beterbiev or Bivol should Canelo be roadblocked.

I’ve heard some rumors that Haymon is proposing a huge multideal for Canelo at PBC. I think we will hear about itZ. The question is does it include Charlo, Benavidez or Spence? That might be Haymon’s secret weapon to play hardball, offer big, or no Plant fight. How does DAZN respond? In-house? Bivol?
