Just a couple of questions to all of you.

        1. How do you define "good chin":
        a) The ability to take ANY good punch without ANY visible reaction?
        b) The stunning/eye puffing/cuts/bone cracks are acceptable until the guy don't hit the canvas?
        c) He can even hit the canvas from single (or even multiple) puch but stood up without noticeable change in the boxing game.

        **************************************
If you accept only the point a) then I'm sure you not find any boxer who has a "good chin" .

        *************************************
If you accept b) then you have to simply count only guys who were never doropped down. There is a few of them around (maybe Vitali K, Morales) ?

But you have to exclude Tyson (multiple KO's by single punch) , Golota (down by MULTIPLE combinations in Bowie & Grant, down by one punch by Tyson, KOed by Levis after multiple punching) . You have to exclude also Ali because he smell the canvas (by Frazier), Foreman (KOed by Ali). Not mention Levis, Holmes (TKO by Tyson), Holyfield (multiple downs and TKOs), Packman, Jones, Toney been down in Jones fight. For me this is a little crazy, because this realy depend on who did you fought and what punches you have got. You cannot compare the oposition of DLH with oposition of Levis, Holyfield or Tyson
(in terms of punching or KO power).

        ***************************************
If you accept c) then Golota's downs with Bowie, Grant, Tyson do not count and Levis KO could be "justified" by a medical condition he was received before fight (being relaxed as a cow after injection).

While Tyson was down by Wiliams after the knee injury , then in Levis and Douglas he cannot by excused, so his chin is below Golotas. While Golota chin is way above Frazier, Tyson, Levis, he is below Ali, Holmes, Foreman. Maybe somehow comparable to Bowie (proved 2x) or Holyfield.
        ****************************************

        2. I think you should realize that the "chin" is something you posses, while the punching power depend on the weight, speed and punch accuracy. For example Toney chin was very good before but he did not faced the good heavyweight boxers yet. After he moved up to HW, his power increased but his chin stayed preety the same, so his "good chin" will be verified very soon. As the second example you can see Wlad Klitchko, chis chin was excelent before he faced good puncher in Sanders, after that he become a classic "glass chin" example.

This also mean that one clear shot from heavyweight boxer is doing much bigger damage than one clear shot from middlewieght. That the power of Tyson and Foreman was increadible while Packman is just a small "joke". This mean you can find more "good chins" in the lower weights. Also Vitali Klitcho's chin could be much better than Morales counting the hard punches he received .

Of course it’s Morales, Ross Purity, Oliver Mccall, Mayorga and Valuev.
Klitchko shouldn’t be here. That uppercut shaked him a lot, but it was simply the short punch of a fat tired Lennox. Klitchko will fall soon. As soon as he meet well shaped fighter with a heart.

Another thing about Golota he had over 111 total wins and I dont know how many total fights, in all his amateur bouts he was never stopped or I dont think ever even knocked down. He was actually stopped once in the 1988 seoul Olympics silver medal match but that was on a cut. But he was never even knocked down as amateur in over 111 fights, or tko or ko'd.

mckay the amatuers is nothing like the pro's they have head gear on, the guy has been knocked out, he's just a loser, he's not the best at anything, except maybe being the best at losing fights he should have won

Still most fighters are stopped several times if they are the type of the fighter that has like 130 amateur bouts, or at least knocked down.

For a stoppage to be called in the amateurs all you have to do is be out on your feet for a couple seconds and they stop it.

look golota might have a decent chin, he might even have an above average chin, but this thread is about who has the BEST chin and golota is nowhere near the top of the list, as i've said before McCall, tua, the journeyman marion wilson, larry donald, and many many more have a better chin than golota, and that's just the heavyweights
