I was watching Ajagba’s brother and some guy slug it out at cruiserweight last weekend and the fight was reminiscent of Tua vs Ibeabuchi based on skill level and punch output. But somehow, Tua and Ibeabuchi would beat current HWs when mid-level cruiserweights who would never become world champions at their weight class is the level they would be at in today’s era.
I understand the fact that people want to see all out war but boxers are more developed, bigger, faster and with better reflexes in today’s era. TV won’t show you that but you can’t deny evolution.
Appreciate greatness while it’s in front of you. And perhaps once Wilder isn’t in the mix anymore (he’s the bum holding the division to ransom due to hype machine and being protected), you knobs would get the veil off and start appreciating greatness. This is the 2nd best era in the history of HW boxing. Only Lennox Lewis and Holyfield would survive in this era from the 90s.
The likes of Tua, Ibeabuchi, Ruddock, Moorer, Bruno won’t make it in this era. Either for not being big enough or would get beaten up easily.
