can we stop being cool with promoters shutting down fights?

im not a favor of any promoter or label, and i like any boxer that is willing to fight the best.

its so ****ing annoying when you check threads about potential fights like teo vs haney or tank vs teo or some other shiiiiiet and shills of said promoters will be like "arum only wants in house fights! pbc only wants in house fights!" like i dont give 2 ****s about what bob arum wants or what gives the most money to the label, i just want to see the best fights happen. just make great fights no matter what.

That's what happens when you get people that are fans of individuals over the sport itself. If you are a true fan of the sport, you want the best fighting the best, and you criticize any promoter, fighter, or whoever that tries to rationalize or make excuses for the ducking/marinating/avoiding/etc.

Absolutely, should be called out every time. When a promoter or network won't allow the best fights to be made for their business reasons they are stealing from the fans, the boxers and the sport. For big fights if an agreement can't be reached, put it to a purse bid like situation, everyone brings their offers, highest gets the fight. Fans win, boxers win, boxing wins.

The whole "wrong side of the street" is literally companies thieving from boxing fans, and somehow we have people supporting it.

We are in the generation of Fanagers now. 10 years ago it was fighter groupies, but now we have groupies of promoters

That's why Boxing dropped from the number 5 place in the most popular sport in the world to number 11. Source: https://sportsshow.net/top-10-most-p...orablementions

Boxing used to be a main stream sport that was watched by old, young, casuals, white, black...it was as popular as football and basketball at one point. Now it's mainly for old farts who still think "marinating" fights and analysing PPV buys makes them sound wise and worship on the altar of Arum and he who cannot be named (Hay--n).

Name me another sport on the planet where the best don't face the best until years have passed. Fights were allowed to build hype for a year or two, but it's beyond ridiculous now and the number of fans are dwindling.

nobody is "cool" with it or wants it to happen...thats whats lost on dumb or weak minded individuals......you think we celebrate it or something...we dont...im a boxing fan and id friggin love for us to get all the fights we want WHEN we want them

but history has taught us that doesnt happen....its still not happening and id place the odds on it ever happening at slim to none......

some of us accept reality...that its a business not just a sport...we adjust and learn to view the sport through that lense....youre like a kid with bad eye sight who refuses to wear glasses or get contacts.......weve learned the sport isnt perfect and we adapt and adjust....the business side of boxing exists and IT WONT GO AWAY!

you sound like an angry child that just learned out his father isnt superman or something...like someone told u the world was perfect, good and nice and you just discovered it wasnt.....ill stay over in reality while you live in fantasyland pretending all the fights you want will happen and when you want them! have fun with that! its gonna be a tough ride with a lot of suffering for you! the sad part is you think i actively cheer for this stuff to happen.....thats how i know youre out of touch...i dont....i just accept it...i aint gonna change it...you arent either....

but you can pat yourself on the back on a boxing forum pretending to be some champion of the cause! "im a hero! i hate this stuff and you should too! i love the sport you dont! i love it more than you"!!!!....go ahead...the floor is yours!
