Comments Thread For: Roy Jones On AIBA Movement: If We Don't Step In To Try To Fix Things, Integrity Of Sport Will Continue To Decrease

The jury is out to see whether a complete overhaul truly awaits the current global amateur boxing system. One notable prior victim is taking a proactive role to ensure the future of the sport is in better hands. Legendary former four-division champion Roy Jones Jr. was on hand for a press conference conducted by the International Boxing Association (AIBA) Monday at Beau Rivage Palace, Lausanne, Switzerland. The purpose of the session was to review the first six months under the new leadership of president Umar Kremlev, who has vowed sweeping reform in an amateur boxing program mired in decades-long corruption.

Meanwhile, Eubank Jr looks a tiny little bit more like Roy every time I see him... it's starting to get a little disturbing.

There is more afoot than AIBA issues. The problem is the well is running dry in the US. The hood is getting too soft and lazy. Nobody is hungry for this life it seems.

I've talked about this before, this is a combat sports issue ---> not just boxing.

International Amateur Boxing Corruption is WORSE than the Pros it is not even close. Olympic Trials are so rigged they know going into the Trials which fighters they want on the team and they do whatever to make sure they send the fighters they want to the Olympics

Exactly why you got 16 years old going PRO and fighting in Mexico for a couple of years before being able to go pro in the US. Only reason why Other fighters from other countries aren't doing the same because they don't have that Option of Luxury which is unfortunate
