Alright, so Vergil is the mandatory for Bud’s 147 WBO belt and first needs to get thru Mean Machine unscathed. For sake of argument, let’s say Vergil handles his business against Egis in August. Is Bud up next for the KO kid? Crawford has one more fight left in his Top Rank deal, if he fulfills that fight in late Sep or early Oct against Zepeda he’ll become a FA. Anyhow, that would open up the possibility of a Crawford Vs Ortiz Jr. fight for sometime in December as Bud is due a mandatory per the WBO. This is the type of fight I see platforms like DAZN and maybe Thriller being very interested in if it goes to purse bid. A Top 3 P4P in Crawford Vs. a KO artist in Vergil would definitely sell, especially in the Mexican American crowd which is Vergil’s fan base and the biggest in boxing. Honestly, wouldn’t be surprised if Eddie even swooped in and stole this fight from Golden Boy, LOL.
