Because of the constant aching of his hand he had to become more careful in the ring and wear bigger gloves. If his hand didn't give up on him he wouldn't be wearing those big ass gloves now and he wouldn't be throwing 12 friggin punches a round. He would be more exciting to watch and would go for the kill if he'd see red.
